Tooth Extraction

Dr. Samandari always prefers to save your natural teeth, using tooth extraction as a last resort. A tooth extraction might be necessary to preserve your dental health if decay or infection has made your natural tooth too damaged to save. At A Reason To Smile we always make sure your tooth extraction is as painless as possible!

Wisdom Teeth Removal

The best time to have wisdom teeth removed is during your late teenage years or early twenties. These immature wisdom teeth are smaller, so surgery is less complicated and potentially less painful. If your wisdom teeth have not started to erupt, Dr. Samandari will use x-ray imaging to locate them and determine if it’s time to have them removed.

Sinus Lift

If you're getting dental implants in your upper jaw, you may need a sinus lift surgical procedure first. During this procedure, our dental team will add new bone between your jaw and maxillary sinuses.

In order to make room for this bone, your sinus membrane is moved upward. A successful sinus lift will help create healthy bone mass to support dental implants.

Frenectomy (Tongue-Tie Release)

Your child’s tongue is an important part of their oral structure. It affects the position of their teeth, periodontal tissue, swallowing, speech development and nutrition.

Tongue Tie” is a condition where the tissue on the underside of your child's tongue that connects to the floor of their mouth is too short, limiting the range of motion of their tongue. This condition can cause infants to struggle with breastfeeding, and in toddlers and young children, it can cause problems with speech development.

A frenectomy is a simple oral surgical procedure that releases the "tongue tie" and the younger your child is when they receive this procedure the better their treatment outcome will be.

Dr. Samandari often recommends a gingivectomy to remove diseased gum tissue to help your gum tissue heal and regenerate. This surgical treatment will reshape remove deep pockets between your teeth and gums caused by gum disease. These pockets are created when gum disease has caused painful gum recession. After a gingivectomy your gum tissue will heal and you'll be able to enjoy a healthy smile again!

Dental Crown Lengthening

Some patients require dental crown lengthening in preparation for the final crown restoration of a tooth. If necessary, Dr. Samandari will perform a crown lengthening procedure to extend the size or height of a portion of your tooth to better stabilize your dental crown.

Tissue Grafting

Woman smiling after painless oral surgery services at A Reason To Smile in Scottsdale, AZ.Gum tissue grafting is a common periodontal procedure performed at A Reason To Smile by Dr. Samandari and our oral surgery team. This procedure is commonly used to treat gum recession caused by gum disease.

Once completed, the soft tissue surrounding your teeth can begin to naturally regenerate, restoring a healthier smile. Benefits include reduced oral and tooth sensitivity, an improved smile appearance and overall improvement of gum health.
